How To Celebrate This Festival?

As in India, celebrating other festivals with many rituals and devotions is the same with Navaratri regalia. In this festival, people pray Devi(goddess) Durga to destroy evil power, intention, thinking and karma during these nine days. It's also about fasting,

playing Garba dance, enjoying colours and more. And after completing nine-days fasting, they break their fasts on the 10th day by feeding tasty food to young nine girls including one boy who is considered to be Bhairava (god).

As this whole ritual has been running since ancient time by considering many old stories, we know a story about Lord Rama when he wanted to release his wife (Sita) from the cage of demon (Ravan). That time, Lord Rama worshipped Goddess Durga in nine aspects and for nine days in order to get strength and power to kill Ravan. Thus, it is believed to celebrate nine days worshipping and the last day to kill Ravana which came to be called Dusshera and Vijyadashmi, means the winning over evil.
